Team constellation

A Team Constellation is used to understand complex and persistent organizational issues

How does this work?

A Team or Organization Constellation is a spatial representation of a team, department or organization, in which employees, departments, customers, products, services or goals are set up by means of objects (cylinders, spheres, art objects).

We often do this in the TeamTransition studio, where the objects are set up together with the participants. Here we look at the relationships with each other. By discussing and shifting this mutual position and it, problems come to light and solutions become negotiable. This is done in four steps.

Step 1, Drafting

Usually we start with interviews, on the basis of which we determine the expectations and objects of the set-up. We then draw up a TeamChart, a schematic overview that is presented to the participants at the start of the set-up and becomes the starting point of the set-up.

Step 2, Research

Each participant is given the opportunity in two rounds to give his or her opinion about the setup, and to change it as needed. This step often yields many ideas and interesting contrasts.

Step 3, Reordering

In this third step we come closer to each other about the most ideal or logical setup through proper discussion. We record this with a short description and photos.

Step 4, Sketchy plan of action

Together with the participants, a sketchy step-by-step plan is drawn up in which the ideal setup can be achieved.
